Seven Books

The seven editions are adaptations of seven books (or booklets, with the first three being quite short). Apart from the In-Depth Edition, each edition is an abbreviated version of the next one up in size.

Eight Units

  1. What to Know
    1. God and Spiritual Powers
    2. God and the World: Basics
    3. God and the World: Jesus Christ
    4. God and His Own People
  2. What to Do
    1. Relating to God
    2. Church Life
    3. Relating to People
    4. Persevering

Besides the Two-Minute Edition, each edition has eight major sections (A–H). These sections are often referred to as "units". These units are colour coded, with the headings in each unit having a distinct color.

The names of the eight units are the same in all these editions, apart from a few being simplified in the Pocket Edition.

Note that the eight unit colors are not related to the colors of the seven editions above, which are simply to distinguish the editions.

Back, Left and Right Arrows

Apart from the home page, all pages have a back arrow – in the top left corner of the screen. As in browsers, the back arrow will go to the page of the last link clicked.

In the editions, grey buttons containing left and right arrows appear near the sides of the screen, towards the bottom. These navigate to the adjoining pages. This is akin to turning one page to the left in a book or one page to the right.

In contrast to the back arrow, the left arrow will always go to the preceding page in the edition. However, if the right arrow was the last link clicked, the left arrow and the back arrow will both go to the preceding page.

Home Page Links

Activating one of the above colored button links to the seven editions will by default go to the first page of the edition (which shows the edition's front cover). But the above drop-down (entitled Above links go to) includes options to instead go to:

  • the edition's Contents page; or
  • the last page viewed in the edition (if the user has previously viewed the edition).

Questions and Settings

Four of the editions have questions for Bible study: the Concise, Foundations, Intermediate and Comprehensive editions. Initially the questions are not displayed. To make them appear, go to Settings > Extra Content > Questions.

There are also various other settings that can be switched on. These include: displaying introductions; displaying comments on some verses; layout settings; and color settings.

Also note that there are display options for Settings. These are in the horizontal three-dots menu (top right-hand corner of the Settings screen).
