The Bible Unpacked License Agreement

I. Permission Conditions for Free Use and Distribution

Paul Mallison is the owner of copyright of all the seven editions of The Bible Unpacked™, as per those contained on this website, and of all the studies based on these literary works/materials. He authorises their download and unlimited reproduction free of charge for use for non-profit Christian purposes. These works must not be reproduced or communicated for any other purpose in a manner that constitutes an infringement of copyright.

No sale of any reproduction or of any communication of the whole or any part of the work is authorised. This means that apart from recovering verifiable printing and postage costs, no cost may be charged for the material – although Christian organisations may apply to do so (see below). No charges may be made for distributing the material over the internet.

II. Permission Conditions for Adaptations (making changes to the material)

Users may:

make changes to the subheadings (but the other more major headings must remain the same unless permission is obtained from the author)
delete or add subsections
change comments, delete comments or add further comments
change questions, delete questions or add further questions
add additional verses – as long as the use of the verses is in accordance with the copyright/permission conditions of the translations used.

Any subheadings and/or comments that have been changed or added and any verses that have been added must be marked as such with an asterisk (*) at the end of them. Additionally a notice similar to the following one must be placed in the introduction to the book/booklet:

“Subheadings and/or comments that have been added or changed, and added verses, are marked with an asterisk (*).”

Users may also change the material into another language – in fact the author would be delighted if this was done. Because the material is composed mostly of Bible verses, it would be relatively easy to change the material into languages that the Bible has been translated into. If anyone does start changing the material into a particular language, please inform the author (see Contact page) in case someone else has already started doing so; there is no point “reinventing the wheel”.

Christian organisations may:

replace the author’s name on the front cover with the organisations’ name
apply for permission to sell the material at a profit. If the profits are for the work of the organisation itself, permission may well be granted (but to avoid disappointment please ask before beginning any work relying on this)

The copyright of any adaptations/material based on The Bible Unpacked is to remain with the author, Paul Mallison – apart from any included illustrations.

Downloading and or use of the files will signify acceptance of this Agreement.
